However, as building structures become more slender and machinery and plant systems more advanced, applications requiring consideration of cyclical stresses are becoming increasingly important. Fastenings for elevators, cranes, crane tracks, and machinery with moving parts are typical examples of applications where fatigue analysis is crucial to prevent anchorage failure due to material fatigue.
For this purpose, testing and evaluation methods for post-installed fastenings were adapted for anchor bolts. Peikko HPM® L 16 anchor bolts were tested in parallel with the development of the corresponding directive, ensuring alignment with evolving standards. As expected, the test results were positive.
Our White Paper, co-authored with Prof. Dr.-Ing. Jan Hofmann, Institute of Construction Materials, University of Stuttgart, and Dr.-Ing. Nilde Maçi, Managing Director of FixING Solutions GmbH, provides a detailed overview of the testing objectives, explains the key findings, and highlights the main amendments to the European Technical Assessment, offering valuable insights into fatigue performance under tension and shear loading.
